Awnings, blinds and shutters
in Johannesburg and Pretoria
Shade that works on the highveld: louvre roofs that close before the afternoon storm, ceilings that cut the heat off a sheet roof, and blinds and shutters cut to your windows. Measured, made to order and fitted by our own Gauteng crew.
Louvre awnings
An adjustable aluminium roof: open for the morning sun, sealed before the 4pm storm.
Ceiling awnings
Insulated panels under an existing patio roof: cooler in the heat, quieter under rain and hail.
Outdoor roller blinds
Tracked screens that close a patio against gusty storm fronts, dust and glare.
Aluminium shutters
Louvred shutters that control light by day and lock into a physical barrier at night.
Indoor roller blinds
Blockout, light-filtering, screen and zebra fabrics against the highveld sun.
Venetian blinds
25mm aluminium and 50mm Styrowood slats that wipe clean of highveld dust.
Shade for storm country
Urbanshades Gauteng installs across Johannesburg and Pretoria, from Sandton and Fourways through Midrand and Centurion to Pretoria East. Highveld weather asks different questions to the coast: fierce UV at altitude, summer afternoons that end in hail and hard rain, and winter mornings that start below zero. Our aluminium structures answer them without rusting, warping or fading, and the blades, panels and screens all adjust as the day changes.
The crew that measures your home is the crew that installs, a fixed written quote lands within 48 hours of the site visit, and every job closes with a written guarantee registered to your address.

Louvres and timber on a modern build
A charcoal louvre roof runs beside timber slat pergolas over the glass frontage of this modern home, each covering a different stretch of the terrace.

A balcony that became a room
Bronze-framed glass and a white panel ceiling with flush downlights turned this open balcony into a space the household uses in every season.

Gauteng questions
The practical things people ask before booking a site visit.
Do you cover both Johannesburg and Pretoria?
Yes, and everything between them. Site visits run from the Johannesburg northern suburbs through Midrand and Centurion to Pretoria East, plus the East and West Rand. Outlying areas like Hartbeespoort are quoted case by case.
How does highveld hail affect your products?
Aluminium blades and panels take hail far better than fabric or polycarbonate, which is a large part of why we work in aluminium. No honest installer will call anything hail-proof, because a severe storm can mark any surface, but exposure is part of what we assess at the free site visit.
How quickly can you do a site visit in Gauteng?
Usually within a few working days, depending on where you are. The visit itself is free and without obligation, and the fixed written quote follows within 48 hours of the measure.
Is the Gauteng branch the same company as the Cape one?
Same brand, same products, same process, with a local Gauteng crew doing the measuring and installing. The 48-hour fixed quote and the written guarantee registered to your address apply in both regions.
