Awnings, blinds and shutters
across greater Cape Town
The Western Cape is where Urbanshades started: our own workshop, our own installation crew, and structures specified for the south-easter and Atlantic salt air.
Built here, for here
Urbanshades Western Cape designs, fabricates and installs aluminium shade for homes from the Atlantic Seaboard to the Winelands. Everything outdoor-facing is made in our own Cape Town workshop from marine-grade, powder-coated aluminium with stainless fasteners, sized for Cape Doctor wind loads and finished for salt air. Indoors, we measure and fit roller blinds, venetians and shutters to the millimetre.
The crew that measures your site is the crew that installs, and every job closes with a written guarantee registered to your address.

Louvre awnings roof the plunge-pool deck at a Sea Point spa, opening to the sky on still days and sealing when the weather rolls in off the sea.

A single tracked roller blind holds this Blouberg-area patio against the Atlantic wind, dropping in seconds and rolling away out of sight when the air goes still.
Western Cape questions
The practical things people ask before booking a site visit.
Which areas of Cape Town do you cover?
All of greater Cape Town: the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Southern Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Blouberg and the West Coast, the Helderberg and the Winelands. Projects further out, such as Hermanus or the Garden Route, are quoted case by case.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, anywhere in our Western Cape service area, with no obligation attached. We measure, look at the sun and wind on your specific site, talk through options, and a fixed written quote follows within 48 hours.
Are your products made locally?
Yes. Outdoor structures are fabricated in our own Cape Town workshop and indoor blinds are cut to measure locally, which is why we can hold a 48-hour quote and control every stage from measurement to hand-over.
Can your structures handle the south-easter?
They are specified for it. Frames, fixings and screens are sized to the exposure of each site, and our installs include front-line positions in Sea Point and Table View where the wind arrives straight off the sea.
